The Maryland Board of Public Works has approved a $7.5 million capital grant that was earmarked for the Downtown Frederick Hotel and Conference Center project.
Carter Elliott IV, press secretary for Gov. Wes Moore, said in an interview on Wednesday that this was the final stamp of approval for the project funding through a mechanism that had been included in the budget for fiscal year 2026.
